NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week were higher in all three major
feeding areas: KS 71,013(+15,015), NE 52,410(+4,522), TX 82,969(+17,299).
Total trade volume is also higher in all three major feeding states: KS
79,852 (+18,714), NE 74,503(+7,270), TX 85,478(+14,101). New showlists appear
to be mixed, higher in Kansas and Texas, but lower in Nebraska/Colorado. Bids
and asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume
will likely be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 314.31 +2.27, Select 279.33 +2.60),
with light box movement (25.99 lds of choice cuts, 7.55 lds of select cuts,
0.00 lds of trim, and 10.17 lds of ground). Live cattle futures at this time
are mixed, mostly higher, while feeder issues are mostly modestly to
moderately higher.
