Location of Central States Commodities, Inc. Central States is located in the historic Livestock Exchange Building in the former stockyards district in Kansas City, MO. Built in 1911, the Exchange Building was once home to one of the largest cattle markets in the nation. On October 18, 1943, 54,130 head of cattle jammed the pens of the Kansas City Stockyards. This is the largest number of cattle to reach an American stockyards in a 24 hour period. Today the Exchange building has undergone extensive renovation.
