DTN Closing Livestock Comment 01/08 15:49
   Dressed Cattle Trade $5.00 Higher

   Early developments in the fed cash cattle market indicate that prices will
be higher this week.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   The livestock complex closed fully higher Thursday afternoon as traders were
again eager to support the marketplace. Some light cash cattle trade developed
in the North at $365, which is $5.00 higher than last week's weighted average.
March corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel and March soybean meal is steady. The
Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 270.03 points and the NASDAQ is down 104.25
points.
